Our Story
The Norann Shop began with our Great Grandma, Anne O’Callaghan Dolan, and her sister Nora O’Callaghan.
Nora and Anne combined to create their own lingerie shop on 5th avenue in New York City in the 1930s–Norann.
Almost a century past, our family revived Norann’s to bring back another time in culture, fashion, and design.
Anne O’Callaghan Dolan was known to be a woman ahead of her time. She was not yet thirty opening The Norann Shop–having already been a professional model, saleswoman, and Lord & Taylor buyer.
By her late 20s, she met the love of her life, William P. Dolan. They wed and had a beautiful family of four children; William (Bill), Madeline, Anne (Nancy), and Francis (Frank).
She instilled family, quality, and hard work in all of her children from the ground up. Although she may have given up her professional career, there was no loss of work in the home.
Great grandma kept her hands busy tending her award winning garden, cooking all the family meals, and making holiday costumes and crafts for all of the children.
All of the Dolan children grew to be strong and active members of society.
Anne became Grandma Dolan as another generation of children were born throughout the 1960s and 1970s including little William, Kelly Ann, Christine, Teresa, Michael, and Patricia.
She became Great Grandma Dolan with the next generation of children throughout the 1990s and 2000s including Kaitlin, John, Katherine, Jonathan, David, Madison, little Madeline, and little Michael.
Today, we have joined forces to share the vintage jewelry, fashions, and crafts of our family. We hope to create new generations that appreciate family, quality, and culture.
Nearly 100 years later, Norann’s is reborn from several generations of love.
